Board Members

President: Lois Nagie, PHR, SHRM-CP

Lois has enjoyed a career in HR for over 20 years.  She is currently Manager of Human Resources at Delta Dental of New Jersey, Inc.  Delta Dental of NJ is New Jersey’s largest dental coverage provider, and has led the industry in offering innovative programs designed to control costs while ensuring quality of benefits since 1969.  In her work at DDNJ, Lois’s focus has been on maximizing employee contributions through attracting top talent, process and performance management, mentoring and training, and disruptive and transparent communication which add value to the organization as well as create cultures of engagement to accomplish and exceed business objectives.  

Prior to her career with Delta Dental of NJ, Lois was a Senior Human Resource Generalist at Publishers Circulation Fulfillment, Inc. where she partnered with her business colleagues to enhance the employee experience and culture of the organization.  

Lois holds a BS in Nutrition from Rutgers University and she received her PHR in December 2009, and her SHRM-CP in March 2015.  Lois has been a SHRM member for many years and joined the Morris County Chapter in 2010, where she has contributed to Workforce Readiness initiatives, and held the positions of Registration Advocate and Vice President of Membership & Registration.

Immediate Past President: Robert Micera, SPHR

Robert, a respected Human Resources professional is a Corporate Director of Human Resources for ADP, Inc. partnering with Corporate Strategy, Continuous Improvement Business Process Innovation, and Finance. He has successfully directed HR for organizations with 200 employees to Fortune 500 companies with over 59,000 employees and enjoys both mid-sized and global environments. His expertise and experience include change leadership, employee relations, talent acquisition, training/OD, affirmative action, benefits and compensation. He is a strategic HR leader as well as outstanding, motivational and energetic public speaker. He has presented at Annual SHRM conferences, and other regional conferences and trade shows. He is the author of "Right To The Point”, The RDM Employer of Choice Model: Creating a Great Work Environment, featured at the SHRM Leadership Conference.Robert is an Adjunct Professor at SUNY Stony Brook and St. Joseph’s College teaching MBS courses in all functions of HR Mgmt. He has articles published in "Accounting Today”, "The Long Island Business News”, the "National Society of Accountants” and has been featured and quoted in The New York Times, Newsday, and NY Post. He has also appeared the Channel 12 program "JobLine".

Robert received his MS in HR Mgmt/Labor Relations and a BA in Industrial Psychology.He is the President for the Society of Human Resources Management Morris County New Jersey Chapter. Additional professional and civic affiliations include previous Treasurer of the SHRM Long Island Chapter, HR Advisory Board member for Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities (ACLD), Committee member for the National Association of Mothers’ Centers (NAMC), and former member of the CORE. He is conversational in Italian and Spanish. He is also an accomplished Singer/Songwriter and Real Estate Investor.

Corporate Secretary: Kathy Bender, SPHR

After serving 15 years in corporate Human Resource and Organizational Development leadership positions, Kathy, SPHR, founded KB Management Consulting in 2001.  In this capacity, Kathy partners with leadership teams of growing companies to help them get the most for their human capital investment, and serves as a project resource to HR Executives of larger companies who have high accountability but limited staff.  Kathy believes strongly in networking with other HR and business professionals to stay abreast of industry and employment trends, and to nurture referral and partnering resources.  In addition volunteering with the MC SHRM executive board, she is involved with the NJ Technology Council, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce and the NJ Organizational Development Learning Community.  She holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton, SPHR and Predictive Index® Analyst Certifications.

Vice President-Finance:
Tom Sokira

Tom is the founder and Managing Partner of Waypoint Financial. He’s an accomplished insurance and financial services professional serving individuals and business owners. Tom’s experience includes developing financial product solutions for Fortune 500 companies including ADP, Morgan Stanley & Prudential. This experience provides him with a unique perspective to help make informed decisions for his clients. 

Mr. Sokira has earned a Bachelor of Science from York College of Pennsylvania and has obtained securities training at both the New York Institute of Finance and The Wharton School of Business. Tom currently holds the Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Chartered Mutual Fund Consultant (CMFC) & Chartered Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) professional designations. He’s an influential member of the Men of Charity organization, an avid kayaker and outdoorsman & enjoys being a committee leader for his sons’ Cub Scout program. Tom lives in Basking Ridge with his wife & two wonderful children. 

Vice President-MembershipKristi Telschow

Kristi Telschow is the CEO and Founder of Jersey Staffing Solutions, LLC. With a desire to succeed and an unstoppable work ethic, Kristi started developing her clients the old fashioned way, cold calling and door to door sales, to build lasting relationships. Kristi has received impressive accolades in the media, including being nominated to the Top 25 Finalists of Leading Women Entrepreneurs in NJ Monthly Magazine in 2012, being featured in the March 25th, 2013 issue of Forbes Magazine as a Women Business Leader in NJ and nominated by NJBiz as a 40 under 40 Winner in September 2013. In May of 2014, Kristi also received the Maroon and Gold Alumni Award from her Alma Mater, Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. To add to these awards, Jersey Staffing was recently voted as one of the top 25 staffing firms in NJ, because of Kristi’s leadership.

Kristi works with customers not only to provide the best possible candidates for each organization, but collaborates with customers to understand individual needs and expectations. Her concept, "Beyond the resume" is a motto she lives every day. Kristi trains her staff members to personally meet with their clients and candidates to determine the short term and long term goals of their recruiting needs and partnering in developing a road-map to accomplish those goals. With her philosophy and customer experience approach, she has fostered long term clients with many more to come..

Vice President-Legislative Affairs: David Lichtenberg, Esq.

David is a partner in the New Jersey office of Fisher & Phillips.  David focuses his practice on employment litigation, counseling and management training.  He received his juris doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Union College.

David has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal court and is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  David has also handled a significant number of administrative matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state agencies.

In addition to his litigation/administrative practice, David regularly counsels clients on employment law matters, with a particular emphasis on disability management.  He has dedicated his entire professional career to representing management exclusively in workplace law and related litigation. 

Vice President-Work Force Readiness: Maya Ollson 
Maya brings 20+ years of outplacement experience to our In-Transition Group. She honed her skills when working for top outplacement companies and now runs her own company, Kokopella Career & Business Consulting, providing outplacement services to corporations and individuals. Maya is co-author of Crack the Job Search Code, a workbook which teaches job seekers how to conduct an effective search, how to shorten it, and land in another great job. Maya has been hailed by her clients as “The Resume Queen” creating resumes that get interviews, and teaching candidates how to turn interviews into offers and negotiations into results.

Chapter Advisor: Connie Ward, PHR

Connie is currently a Technical Recruiting Specialist at Amazon where she is hiring Senior Software Development Engineers for the Seattle Headquarters. Connie is also Principal at CWard Consulting LLC, a Career Services firm assisting talent in transition and small businesses by providing tailored outplacement programs.  Prior to launching CWC, Connie was the Regional Director Recruitment Sourcing for RGP in Parsippany, New Jersey. 

As a senior talent acquisition professional with more than 20 years of experience as a successful staffing leader, Connie’s expertise in strategic sourcing, recruiting processes and staffing solutions have added substantial value via assignments within varied industry notables (such as HSBC, RGP, Merck, Avaya, ADP, Panasonic, T. Williams Consulting).  Her ability to quickly build professional relationships via Social Media and other talent sourcing tools has become a unique differentiator for success in engaging talent for her clients.  

Connie is a forward thinking leader with a keen sense for uncovering trends and building collaborative teams that can unlock the power of new ideas and changes that deliver on businesses goals. She has served as the President of Society Human Resources Management MC NJ Chapter, and Director of Communications with the SHRM Garden State Council.  Possessing both the HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and a SHRM CP, Connie is also a graduate of William Patterson University, where she received a B.A. in Broadcast Communication.

Certification ChairpersonDiana Black 
Diana, PHR, SHRM-CP- has been a member of the Morris County SHRM chapter since 2011.  She has been the Certification Chair for the past one and half years.  Diana has been in the Human Resource function for 10 years, and prior to a personal leave was in the Human Resource function for two large companies for 15 years. Diana’s experience is in compensation, benefits, policy development and HR administration.  

Diana studied for the PHR exam and took the FDU course offered by the chapter.  She recently completed the SHRM-CP certification.  She assisting members currently studying for the exam and coordinates weekly meetings to discuss the modules.  Certification is important in today’s  marketplace to show  your commitment to the HR profession and Diana enjoys helping members achieve that goal.  

College Relations Chairperson:Judy Treibman

Judy is a dynamic, results-oriented HR Professional who brings to the role of College Relations Chairperson more than 25 years of business experience, a Master’s in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and the HRCI esteemed credential of SPHR.  Judy’s work experience in varied environments and industries includes:  the corporate office of a global Fortune 500 manufacturer, an IT start-up with multi-national operations, and a Fortune 100 national staffing firm.  Judy is currently employed as a generalist for a private provider of educational and public school management services and is an adjunct instructor at the County College of Morris.  She has held director, management, and administrative positions.  Judy’s personal passions lie in advancing education for the adult student and one of her favorite quotes is “Education isn’t preparation for life, it is life itself” by John Dewey.

Foundation Chairperson: Jenna Bender
Jenna Bender is a Human Capital Consultant with FMP Consulting, Inc., located in Alexandria, Virginia. She has experience providing human consulting services to private and public organizations, leading innovative client solutions in the fields of career development, training, employee education, marketing and strategic communications. She is a contributing author to the book Human Capital Management: What Really Works in Government.  Jenna earned her M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from George Mason University and her B.A. in Psychology from Michigan State University.

New Member Chairperson: Michelle Coalman

Michelle has worked in different capacities of Human Resources (recruiting, training, HR Generalist/Business Partner) for approximately 20 years. She is currently a HR Business Partner at TD Bank supporting the Central, NJ branches as a trusted advisor for 1 ½ years.  Prior to working at TD, she spent 20+ years at Citibank working in Human Resources and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance where she gained business line experience.  Michelle holds a BBA with a specialization in Human Resources from CUNY - Baruch College and she earned her SPHR in June 2013.  She has been a member of SHRM for several years and joined the Morris County SHRM Chapter in 2011 where she has supported the Membership and Registration group. Michelle enjoys Zumba classes, taking long walks and her volunteer activities at her church.

Sponsorship Chairperson: Dennis Bartley 
Dennis Bartley, Jr., Vice President, joined USI Insurance Services in April 2011 and is based out of the West Orange, NJ office.  Dennis specializes in developing effective benefit solutions in the medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, life, disability and voluntary sectors that maintain the delicate balance between employer financial solvency and best in class employee options. Dennis’ responsibilities include procuring new business in the middle market segment, as well as managing his existing book of business.  Prior to joining USI Dennis held consulting positions at Michaels & Associates and First Reliance Standard.

Dennis received his degree in both Finance and Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Originally from North Arlington, NJ, he now resides in Bloomfield, NJ with his wife, daughter and son. 

Volunteer Chairperson: Yvonne Rocco, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, JD
Yvonne, a dedicated Human Resources professional, has an exciting career spanning 20+ years.  She recently launched the consulting practice, Raising the Bar, where she advises small to mid-sized business owners and non-profit organizations on critical HR issues.  Prior, she was the Head of Human Resources for several divisions of Prudential Financial, as well as their Business Ethics Officer and the former Head of Employee Relations for Prudential Securities and PaineWebber (UBS).  She has been SPHR certified since 1998 and has the new designation of SHRM-CSP.  

Yvonne is the author of HR publications on such topics as aligning HR with business objectives and team building. She is an industry arbitrator for FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). A Rutgers alum, she holds a JD from Rutgers School of Law, an MS from Rutgers Institute of Management and Labor Relations and a BA in Sociology from Douglass College at Rutgers University.  A great friend of the four legged, she has rescued several dogs and cats, collectively known as the 40-paws, who live with her husband and 3 children.
